Good day, thank You for Your question. Lifeguards work a seasonal job, only during summer. Both males and females are welcome to join in. Those who want to do that, are required to complete a series of selections, where they have to perform their swimming skills, stamina, speed, courage. When the selection is over, those that were selected go through various theoretical and practical lessons to learn how to help or discipline people. Lifeguards tend to work every summer, it is not unusual at all. They are paid about 10 dollars per hour, also, provided with food, accomodation, ability to work in other job at the same time.
