Cafe Manager needed

Cafe Manager works as a member of our retail team. She/he supervises a team of Baristas and operation of the cafe. Cafe Manager is responsible for managing his/her coffee bar’s operational and financial success.

General Responsibilities

  • Help create a great company culture.
  • Ensuring store is providing consistently excellent products and service, and that the environment is inviting, clean, and well stocked.
  • Lead by example, work side-by-side, coach, train, provide feedback, administrative responsibilities, and ensure operational consistency with cafe standards.
  • Promote a positive staff morale and favorable image in the community.
  • Participate in long-term strategic planning

Specific Duties

  • Recruit, interview, hire and on-board new team members according to our standards.
  • Create a safe work environment that promotes growth and development amongst the team.
  • Communicate weekly to team, hold monthly leadership meetings to improve individual, team, and store performance. Encourage the team to celebrate wins.
  • Coach and develop team members and team leads and encourage their success and growth.
  • Complete bi-annual performance review for all members of their team.
  • Bar Operation and Budgeting
  • Perform barista tasks during scheduled shifts (20 hours per week)
  • Ensure clean, attractive, and inviting cafe environment. Interior and exterior
  • Create and execute plans to elevate product quality and customer experience,
  • Participate in financial goals of store including development and implementation of systems for increasing efficiency and profitability of the store.
  • Calculate COGS, Food Cost Targets, Drink Cost Targets, Quarterly Projections, Labor Targets, Payroll reports, Time Reports, Sales Tax Reports.
  • Monitor and manage labor levels to increase efficiency without sacrificing quality or customer experience.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and keep products in stock by ordering products, introduce new products.
  • Maintain scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment, and ensure that all equipment is in proper working order.
  • Troubleshoot small repairs and work with the retail director toward a resolution on larger repairs.
  • Maintain safety of cafe environment and ensure proper handling and storage of food products.
